Welcome to St. Louis. Now Leave.

The weather turned nasty here this weekend - no big storms, but suffocating heat and humidity. The haze is amazing, cutting way down on visibility - the clouds themselves are mostly obscured and the sky is this grey-blue blanket. I had plans for more yardwork this weekend, but I just can't work under such conditions. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.

Milwaukee's a lot like St Louis: Beer, Germans, bowling, baseball. Except 10 to 15 degrees cooler.

And I almost forgot: No "East Milwaukee".

It's just miserable. Miserable I tell you. The girls went outside for 15 minutes on Sunday before it was too hot and never even asked to go out again.

I don't know if a front came through or the humidity was so high the sun's rays couldn't make it through to warm ground level, but yesterday evening was downright pleasant temperature wise, which I was grateful for since I was sitting outside all night at a swimmeet.

Tom, I can't speak to the Germans and the bowling, but the beer isn't as good as St. Louis, nor is the baseball. But I do like the sound of "cooler".
